Optimization of network flows
Rychtář, Adam ; Hrabec, Dušan (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the assigment of waste flows to specific producer for each edge andaplication on real model which maps the Czech Republic and the model is applied to real data of the Czech Republic. The goal is to determine variance of the expenses for each producer subject to changes in waste processing requirements. Then, the solution impacts and bottlenecks are analysed. The suitable optmization models is formulated and computations are realizaed in GAMS.
Network flows and their modifications
Bitara, Matúš ; Hošek, Jaromír (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis deals with optimization models in transportation problems. Brief introduction to graph theory and linear programming is followed by transportation problem of waste transport. Then there is a part with real data applied to the territory of the Czech Republic. After that the user interface created in Visual Basic programming language is explained. In conclusion computational results are discussed as well as their possible improvement.
Optimization in Logistics
Huclová, Alena ; Škapa, Stanislav (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the optimization of models of transportation and transshipment problem with random demand, additional edges, and dynamic pricing. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces mathematical models of transportation. The software GAMS, which is used for the solution, is all so described. The practical part is a split among chapters and implements the described models by using real data.
Mathematical models for transportation problems
Votavová, Helena ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis deals with modelling and solution techniques for the selected transportation problems. Firstly, historical remarks and application-related comments are introduced. Then the selected transportation problems are defined and mathematical programming and graph theory concepts are utilised to model them. The travelling salesman problem and suitable algorithms are under focus. The original implementation in GAMS and Python is discussed. Algorithms have been tested for the instance based on the set of 73 towns in the Czech Republic. Finally, the test results are evaluated and compared.
Mathematical model for Transportation Problem in Waste Management
Procházka, Vít ; Touš, Michal (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the development of the mathematical model of transportation problem in waste management, which is used for analysis of current issue of mixed municipal waste treatment in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of thesis aims to introduce basic terms of graph theory and optimization with the focus on linear programming. The second part aims to development of the model and its implementation to GAMS. And next, the post-processing of results is shown, vizualization in ArcGIS included.
Linear Programming Used as an Effective Weapon by Manager
Zaoralová, Hana ; Havlíček, Radomír (referee) ; Chvátalová, Zuzana (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis is focused on the processes taking place in the firm and their optimization using linear programming. At the first part of thesis the theoretical background, basic concepts and methods are defined, thus become familiar with operational research. Then the current situation and subject of business of the company are analyzed. The analytical section will examine specific situation related to the process in the company, knowledge of linear programming will be applied and we will attempt to find out whether these mathematical discipline can be practically used also in nonmanufacturing company, that is primarily engaged in providing logistics. Finally, the results will be interpreted using the software Maple.
Logistic problems and their applications
Žlebek, Petr ; Nevrlý, Vlastimír (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
The thesis deals with transportation problems using optimization methods. The first part summarizes theoretical facts about the graph theory, mathematical programming, transportation problems and genetic algorithm. Those informations are used in the second part of the thesis where the specific transportation model dealing with waste collection management is described. The model is implemented in Matlab environment. Real data from the area of Czech republic are then applied to the model. Finally the results are throughly discussed.
Methods for solving selected vehicle routing problems and their implementation.
Drobný, Michal ; Grygarová, Libuše (advisor) ; Zimmermann, Karel (referee)
Various types of transportation issues are a common practice. The issue may be approached mainly as the distribution of products from suppliers to consumers while minimising distribution costs. The difference of real transportation issues predominantly relates to the considered restrictions, such as capacities of vehicles and orders, time windows and other special distribution restrictions. Transportation issues were already defined by F.L. Hitchcock in 1941 and since then, a wide range of stochastic and non- determinist methods providing solutions to transportation issues have been developed. Nevertheless, introducing distribution restrictions in resolving real-life problems makes it difficult for such methods to be applied. This thesis provides a compilation of the well-known determinist methods that may be used to resolve transportation issues. The methods that are appropriate for resolving real issues are discussed in more detail. The solution procedure of the selected method is demonstrated using simple examples and the results are compared with the results of other methods. An analysis of the above methods is used to design and implement new methods to resolve real transportation issues, their results being compared with the methods provided by the commercial software product.
